Over the past few days, our little gem has once again been targeted by incomprehensible acts of vandalism. Not only was our supply of firewood in the turret stolen—or simply used up—but, once again, there were reckless individuals who felt the need to climb onto the turret’s roof. Up there, they pried stones loose from the vaulted structure and used them as projectiles, hurling them down from the roof with the fire pit as their target. We are deeply saddened by such behavior and have, moreover, filed a police report against unknown persons. Furthermore, we will soon be considering how to—if not entirely prevent—then at least better control such visits in the future. We may even go so far as to impose a complete ban on visitors! After all, this is private property, not a public space.
